About the project

Elten Logistic Systems delivered an automation solution for a customer in the United Kingdom that improves the process before and after the industrial washer. The customer specializes in returnable transit packaging.

One system around the washer

The project consists of several machines that together form one smooth and efficient system. The industrial washer is at the center and cleans the crates. A buffer conveyor for up to eight pallets ensures continuous throughput, and stack pushers and crate destackers handle 8000 crates per hour.

Inspection and rejection

A vision system checks the crates for cleanliness, damage, bale arms and other specifications. Rejected crates go to reject stations, where they are sorted and stacked manually. Approved crates are collected and stacked.

The result

By automating loading, conveying, cleaning and inspection, the customer gets a shorter lead time and lower labor costs, while quality stays high.
